Our practice

Therapist Qualifications and Training

Our team includes fully Registered Psychotherapists, Social Workers, and a Psychological Associate. Each therapist has much experience in providing support for common mental health concerns, as well as their own unique education and training in their areas of specialization.

Circle of Care

Therapists at Juniper meet frequently for peer mentorship. Within this circle of care, discussions of client concerns, treatment approaches and other relevant supports occur in a collaborative manner. All therapists at Juniper are bound to the same ethical guidelines of confidentiality and privacy.

Clinical Consultation

Clinical consultation is provided to Juniper therapists on a bi-monthly basis by Dr. Katherine Henderson. Consultation with Dr. Henderson includes providing ongoing support, education and guidance to therapists at all stages of client care.

Our delivery

In-person, or video appointments

Juniper offers an array of counselling formats so that you may choose the option that feels best for you. We offer in-person, video and telephone appointments.

Owl Practice

Upon becoming a Juniper client, you will be invited to set up an account with Owl Practice. Here you can schedule appointments, attend video appointments, send secure messages, receive appointment reminders and maintain a record of payments. OWL is a secure platform, enabling mental health care while meeting essential standards to protect health information and ensure professional compliance.

Our fees

Psychotherapy

Typically sessions are offered on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule. Sessions consist of 50 minutes of therapy and 10 minutes of clinical record keeping completed by your therapist. Clients in maintenance phases of their therapy may wish to meet with their therapist for a half hour session. Juniper accepts payment by e-transfer or credit card.

Registered Psychotherapist or Social Worker: 50 minutes  |  $175.00

Registered Psychological Associate: 50 minutes |  $230.00

Adult Assessments

Psychodiagnostic assessments are typically conducted to establish diagnoses, provide diagnostic clarification, identify challenges and strengths, and to determine the most appropriate evidence-based interventions.. Assessments at Juniper Counselling Centre typically involve an evaluation of your social, emotional, and behavioural functioning. Once the assessment is complete, your clinician will interpret the results and write a report then meet with you to discuss the results and recommendations. The nature and duration of the assessment will be determined by your presenting concerns. Your clinician will typically be able to provide an estimated timeline to complete the assessment following the intake session.

Insurance coverage

Juniper’s clinical team is comprised of Registered Psychotherapists, Social Workers, and a Psychological Associate, allowing fees for appointments to be covered by most insurance companies. Relevant information for submitting a claim can be found on your receipt.
